7 days ago - By GamesRadar

Today's Xbox Developer Direct has come and gone without any new info on Starfield , and while Xbox warned everyone that this would be the case, a lot of fans have still managed to be disappointed. When the Xbox Developer Direct was announced two weeks ago, the publisher was very clear that the show would be focused on Minecraft Legends, Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and Elder Scrolls Online. Bethesda noted that "to dedicate the proper amount of time for a deep dive into Starfield, a standalone show is in the works ." While we did get a lovely surprise in the form of Hi-Fi Rush , we were not...

  • 'Hi-Fi Rush' is an action rhythm game you can play today

7 days ago - By Engadget

Here's a pleasant surprise from Xbox and Bethesda's Developer Direct showcase : a full game you can download right away. The Evil Within studio Tango Gameworks has unveiled Hi-Fi Rush , a combo-driven brawler with rhythm game elements. You play Chai, a would-be rockstar who fights a robotics company with the help of the beat. Think Devil May Cry or Bayonetta crossed with a music game, or a very pretty spiritual sequel to Crypt of the NecroDancer. You aren't forced to play to the beat, but you're rewarded for staying in sync with high-powered combo moves and finishers. Not surprisingly...

Xbox shadow drops Hi-Fi Rush, an unexpected rhythm action game from Ghostwire Tokyo devs

7 days ago - By GamesRadar

While Xbox was quick to note that today's Developer Direct would be light on surprises , there was at least one: Hi-Fi Rush, a brand-new game from Tango Gameworks, the devs behind The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo. The real kicker is that it will launch on PC and Xbox, including Game Pass, later today. Hi-Fi Rush looks and feels "like nothing we've made at Tango before," as game director John Johanas puts it. Indeed, even studio head Shinji Mikami said it's the kind of game he "never would have thought of." This is a cartoonish third-person rhythm action game where you play as Chai, an...

Revealed during the Xbox Developer Direct event, the game is called Hi-Fi Rush and it's out today. A rhythm action game, Hi-Fi Rush has players performing moves to add layers to the music. The more you flow with the beat, the better you can perform abilities. Everything syncs up with the music as you play. The game is unlikely anything Tango has made before, and Mikami said he was keen to try something new for the team's next game. "As...
