    Shaw has lost approximately a quarter of its workforce. According to a February 15th, 2018 media release, approximately 3,300 Shaw employees accepted a buyout as part of the company's Voluntary Departure Program. The VDP was part of the company's Total Business Transformation initiative, launched with the intention of making its customer delivery model “more digital” through online or e-care. Shaw offered buyouts to roughly 6,500 employees, and only 10 percent were expected to accept the departure package.
