    M. Night Shyamalan movies exist on a scale, with taut thrillers like The Sixth Sense, Split, and The Visit at one end, and the nearly unwatchable Lady in the Water, The Happening, and The Last Airbender at the other. The prolific director has a reputation for making movies at one extreme or the other, but the reality is that just as many fall somewhere in the middle of that scale.
