1 month ago - By GameInformer

When backwards compatibility was first announced during the Xbox One launch, the reception was less than impressive. Since then, this feature has expanded to include an incredible amount of games from the original Xbox, the 360, and, now with new gen on the horizon, Xbox One. Microsoft has confirmed that most backwards compatible games, with the exception of a few Kinect-reliant titles, are ready to rock and roll on Xbox Series X/S.
Xbox's Jason Ronald confirmed the news on Twitter after over 500,000 hours of playtesting adventures across all generations. The only exception to this are...

Call of the Sea on Xbox Series X: The First 18 Minutes

1 month ago - By IGN

Call of the Sea was one of the more intriguing reveals at Microsoft's third-party showcase back in May. It's a first-person puzzle/adventure game set on a tropical island, in which you play a woman in 1934 investigating clues left by a previous voyage that caused her husband to go missing. Call of the Sea promises "an emotional, charming character study of a woman on a journey of self-discovery." That woman, aka Norah, the protagonist you play as, is voiced by Cissy Jones, who you'll remember from her award-winning performance as Delilah in 2017's fantastic Firewatch.
    Take a look at the...

1 month ago - By IGN

Tetris Effect: Connected producer Mark MacDonald was remarkably candid when he explained the idea behind this multiplayer-enhanced version of Tetsuya Mizuguchi's excellent sensory Tetris experience. “We didn't do multiplayer at the time because we didn't have a good idea.” He added that they tried working on it, but what they came up with was “pretty standard” and didn't fit Effect's escape-y, chill vibe, and so they asked themselves, “Why are we doing this?” and then they cut it.
Fast forward a bit, though, and a good idea did strike from a unique source of inspiration: the Classic Tetris...

Xbox Series X in pictures: Our first look at the flagship Xbox

    1 month ago - By Pocket-lint

We're currently in the process of reviewing the Xbox Series X fully - which you'll be able to read soon enough - but for the time being we've been able to unbox the model that's arrived at Pocket-lint to give you our initial thoughts. First up, it's heavy. Very. While nowhere near as big as its main rival, the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X is still a hefty machine better suited to standing tall than lying flat in an AV cabinet. It is possible to do that, with rubber feet along one side for exactly that purpose, but the heat grille on the machine is clearly at the top to help hot air...
